We are pleased to announce, in honor of The Living History of Yorktown High School, that ALBERT E. REID, BA, MA, MS, has been named the 2012 Renaissance Teacher of the Year.
Mr. Ried's 40 years of service to our Yorktown Community, exemplifies Mr. Reid's service as a great listener, who cares about others and strives to be a lifetime learner.
Mr. Reid has been the listening post and lifetime learner of our educational life, since 1972, and we are signaling our appreciation for his continuing example to be an outstanding teacher, advisor, counselor and student in our community.
As the 2012 YHS Renaissance Teacher, Mr. Reid has already shared his knowledge of Chemistry, Biology and General Science at YHS, since 1972. As a teacher of AP Syracuse/Chemistry and Chemistry Honors, he still finds time to share with students as Guidance Counselor.
A gentle force of nature, he always has been available to everyone who may have a need to talk, along the challenging pathways of life and he continues to be an inspiration and advisor to all.
Mr. Reid's credentials include the multiple degrees of B.A. in Chemistry, from North Carolina College, M.A. in Counseling and Psychology, from University of Arizona, and M.S. in Chemistry and Education, from University of Tennessee.
Traveling our country and the world as a citizen ambassador of education and understanding, Mr. Reid has shared his boundless energy to guide people through difficult times to see a better tomorrow.
Albert E. Reid is simply among the best teachers in America.
